1. Who we are

SEO Chat (“SEO Chat”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides the public website at https://seochat.net, related branded hostnames (including https://app.seochat.net where applicable), and connected product experiences such as early access, support, and partner opt-in / account connection flows.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process, why we process it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to:

  • Visitors to seochat.net and our marketing / coming-soon pages.
  • People who contact us (email or contact form).
  • Users who connect an X (Twitter) account or use partner start links tied to SEO Chat.
  • Administrators and operators using related desk tooling we provide for SEO Chat.

Third-party websites and platforms (including X) have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you provide

  • Identity & contact: name, email address, company (optional), message content, and topic of inquiry.
  • Account credentials: if we issue a desk login, username and password (stored hashed), display name, and role.
  • Support content: screenshots, logs, or details you choose to send when requesting help.

3.2 Information from X when you connect

If you authorize SEO Chat via X OAuth, we may receive and store (as permitted by X and the scopes you approve):

  • X user id, username, display name, and profile metadata (for example follower counts, verification flags).
  • OAuth access / refresh tokens needed to act on your behalf within the approved scopes (posting, likes, follows, reading profile data, offline access where granted).
  • Activity metadata required to operate scheduled or manual posts and connection health checks.

3.3 Information collected automatically

  • Technical logs: IP address, approximate location derived from IP, user agent, timestamps, requested URLs, and error diagnostics.
  • Security signals: rate-limit counters, CSRF / session identifiers, and fraud-prevention markers.
  • Referral context: partner source domain or campaign identifiers when you arrive through an approved start link.

We do not intentionally collect special-category data. Please do not submit sensitive personal data in contact forms.

4. How we use information

  • Operate, secure, and improve seochat.net and related SEO Chat services.
  • Respond to early-access, partnership, press, and support requests.
  • Create and maintain user accounts, sessions, and admin / moderator access.
  • Complete X connection flows, keep tokens current, and perform actions you authorized.
  • Send operational notices (security, service changes) and, where appropriate, product updates you requested.
  • Detect abuse, enforce our Terms of Use, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Produce aggregated, non-identifying analytics about product usage.

5. Legal bases (EEA/UK and similar)

  • Contract / pre-contract: providing the service you request (including contact replies and connected features).
  • Legitimate interests: securing the platform, preventing abuse, improving reliability, and understanding aggregated usage.
  • Consent: optional communications or non-essential cookies where required by law; X connection is based on your authorization in X’s consent screen.
  • Legal obligation: accounting, regulatory requests, and mandatory retention.

6. X / social connections

Connecting X is optional and controlled by you in X’s authorization interface. You can revoke access at any time in your X account settings and/or disconnect inside SEO Chat where that control is offered. After revocation we stop new API calls; residual backups or logs may remain for a limited period as described in Retention.

Tokens are stored encrypted at rest where our application architecture provides encryption. Desk operators may see profile identifiers needed to support your account (for example username), not your X password.

7. Sharing & processors

We do not sell personal information. We may share data with:

  • Infrastructure providers: hosting, database, TLS, DNS, email delivery, and monitoring vendors processing data on our instructions.
  • Platform partners: X, when you connect and when we call X APIs on your behalf.
  • Professional advisors & authorities: when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

Partner brands that send you to a SEO Chat start link may receive confirmation that a connection completed, limited to what is needed for that partnership.

8. Cookies & similar technologies

  • Essential: session cookies, CSRF protection, load-balancing, and security preferences.
  • Functional: remembering UI state where implemented.
  • Analytics (if enabled): aggregated traffic measurement. Where consent is required, we will request it before non-essential cookies run.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break login or forms.

9. Retention

  • Contact messages: typically up to 24 months, unless a longer period is needed for an ongoing matter.
  • Account & connection records: for the life of the account, then deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period after deletion/disconnect (commonly up to 90 days for backups).
  • Security logs: commonly 30–180 days depending on threat-investigation needs.
  • Legal holds: retained as required by applicable law or dispute.

10. Security

We use HTTPS, access controls, encrypted token storage where applicable, and operational monitoring. No system is perfectly secure. Use strong unique passwords for desk logins and enable platform protections on your X account. Report suspected incidents to security@seochat.net.

11. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Receive a portable copy of data you provided.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

To exercise these rights, email privacy@seochat.net with enough detail for us to verify and fulfill the request. We may need to confirm your identity before acting.

12. International transfers

We and our processors may process data in countries other than yours (including EU and non-EU hosting locations). Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

13. Children

SEO Chat is not directed to children under 16 (or the higher age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. We will revise the effective date above and, when changes are material, provide additional notice on the website or by email where appropriate.
